We do not accept ads from pet junk food products-foods that are unhealthy or of dubious quality or questionable ingredients.
We do not accept ads for products or practices that can harm, cause pain or injury to animals or negatively affect them. This would include shock collars, electronic containment fences and dangerous toys or other products.
We do not accept ads from breeders of animals for sale-the 95% of good breeders don't need to advertise as they have waiting lists while the 5% of backyard breeders or puppy mills would use us for their overstocks.
We will only accept ads from pet shops that sell live animals that we have personally visited and we believe on inspection conform to the highest standards of pet care, marketing, warranty and responsible pet ownership education.
We do not do 'advertorial'. We do not trade products for advertising, run competitions, feature products, services or otherwise exchange editorial coverage as either a reward or inducement for advertising. And we don't discount-all advertisers big and small are on the same rates.
All ads appear in full colour in our tabloid size pages, printed on 65gsm LWC (light weight coated) paper (85gsm cover stock) in Sydney at Rural Press by heat set process. They also appear in full on our websites embedded in all pages as PDFs and also displayed separately as jpegs with hot links to advertisers websites.
Now being full colour gloss, cover-to-cover, we have achieved an economy of scale and more cost-effective printing rates which allow us to pass on savings to our ad clients. Due to our increased number of advertisers, no discounts, side deals or distressed ad rates, we are happy to offer the following:

Ad Agencies: Commission to accredited agencies of 10% for originating booking-applied only to net amount (after GST & insertion discount). So a $2750 FP FC would be $2750 less GST of $250 would be $2500 gross of which $250 agency commission applies for a net amount of $2250. For a 20% discount (4 insert) ad rate of $2750 less 20% for $2250, less 10% GST for a gross of $2025 of which $202.50 would be agency commission for a net amount of $1822.50
Terms: All advertising must be paid, with art, unless credit arrangements have been previously approved. Discounts only apply with prepayment or within 30 days on credit accounts. For agencies, payment terms must be guaranteed in advance at time of booking as 45 days or under from publication date before commission and discount can be credited. Otherwise, commission and client discount can be paid back to agency after timely payment is made.

As you can see, we have a range of prices in this tabloid sized publication, making your ad twice as large as an equivalent A4 size magazine and with a massive readership since Urban Animal is free, distributed at pet places.
We are using professional journalists and content, are not using 'advertorial' as an inducement or reward for advertising and are keeping the magazine clean from influence, with no ads from breeders, pet junk food or harmful products.
Electronic Art Requirements
All artwork must be supplied as per the exact sizes above.
We accept electronic artwork - 300DPI high resolution, CMYK, JPEG or PDF ONLY.
Fonts must be included, embedded or outlined if a PDF is supplied.
Absolutely NO Microsoft Word or Powerpoint files please JPEG or PDF ONLY.
Urban Animal can not do your artwork or corrections for you but we can recommend cost-effective independent graphic artists or designers to service your needs.
